It’s 7am and I’m sitting on the floor of the guest room in Gabby Day’s house, absolutely knackered. Last night she and her partner, Rick took me and a couple of their friends out to dinner. After the first sip of my Peroni, a cracked beer glass cut my finger which resulted in a complimentary bottle of Peroni (both were a massive, big bottle, not just a pint) from the restaurant and a cider a local bar was just the finishing touch.
So the remnants of last night plus the long driving caused fatigue glued my eyes together this morning but I need to leave early to catch the morning training at Dalby Forest. Gabby and Rick were amazing hosts, thank you for everything. I had a chat with Gabby about bikes, training and life in general, plus she showed me all the gems in their garage, which I’m going to all write up in a post in the near future, but now it’s time to head to Pickering to see some world-class mountain biking action.
