For the better part of the day, it didn’t rain, however, around 3pm it started to rain and kept raining ever since. As a consequence, all this water will make this off-camber section rather interesting tomorrow.

I was setting up my remote flashes to test some angles, when someone stopped and asked, am I the cyclephotos guy. I said I was. She introduced herself, she was Vicki Thomas, the only Canadian rider on the start line tomorrow. I inquired how she liked the course and she let me know that she liked it a lot, though, she added she hoped it wouldn’t rain during the night. Good luck tomorrow, Vicki!

It started to rain around 3pm, but Katherine Compton couldn’t care less: she and her riding companion seemed to have fun in that ungodly weather.
I was about to leave when I spotted Hanka Kupfernagel. I’m really looking forward to tomorrow’s race, as she can be a serious contender to Compton and we should never forget the winner of last weekend’s Euro Championships and reigning World Champion Marianne Vos.
