So the World Cup season is over. Fifteen races felt like a big number – five months later it’s all gone. Not everybody was happy with the new structure, I, for one, quite liked it the rhythm of it, that if it’s Sunday, it’s a World Cup.
Hoogerheide was one of the races that were cancelled last year, so this was the first time that we saw it without crowds and it was weird. It’s always been a busy race and getting around easily didn’t really make up for the lack of atmosphere. That being said, both races were super-exciting and I think next weekend’s World Championships will have very exciting races with no clear favourites.
I’m making my way home as I’m typing this and will jump on a flight to the US on Wednesday. Can’t wait for the second World Championships in the US!
