After spending a grand total of 48 hours at home, I’m back on the road again. I missed the race at Niel last year, due to Covid, so the new course was a nice surprise – once I found it. It wasn’t where it used to be, so it took me a while to get there, after following similarly clueless spectators. I ended up spending a bit too much time near a huge puddle close to the finish – I managed stay dry during the women’s race, but Eli Iserbyt’s overtake whilst crossing said puddle covered me in mud. It was a proper cyclocross moment 🙂
Tomorrow is travel day, 12 hours on various trains, from Brussels to Tabor, let’s hope there won’t be any hiccups.
