If I was cynical, I could say that not having crowds today at Boom didn’t make much difference. But I’m not, so I won’t. We are reaching the part of the season when sunshine often means golden hour and we were lucky enough to have some gorgeous light for the last few laps of the race. I really enjoyed it. Another thing I enjoyed getting to the top of the ‘arena’. I’ve never been there before and it showed me a few new angles, including a distant shot of the finish of the men’s race. It was a fun day and I’m happy how it went. Now, it’s time to go, but not for long. Will be back next week for another double weekend, Scheldecross and Gavere – make sure you check out previous galleries, either for nostalgia or just to get an idea of the courses. See you next week.

Is there anyone who knows why Tom Pidcock had to change his bike in the first lap and what he was communicating to his pi“d“crew right after he was in first position after the start? We have been excited to see him in front of the race but that ended quickly.

Not quite sure what happened, to be honest with you!
