It’s the New Year and that means GP Sven Nys, new teams, new jerseys and new bikes. While all this new stuff mixes things up a bit, it will take a few weeks until won’t glance over Marianne Vos, because she’s not wearing her signature orange-white kit on her Giant. Or Lars van der Haar. I keep looking for that dash of red on his chest, the Alpecin Logo, but it’s not there anymore. Wout Van Aerts’s kit, being the World Champion, hasn’t changed much, but his team-mates black and green kit will take some getting used to. But that’s all part of the fun.
After a busy Kerstweek, I’m heading home now and won’t pick up my cameras for almost two weeks – my next race is the penultimate World Cup round in Fiuggi, Italy.
