This update is quite late and the main culprit is the Boulevard Périphérique around Paris. That’s where I was sitting almost two hours in traffic, that’s why I missed my designated ferry and that’s why I arrived back home in an ungodly hour last night. But here it is, a few photos from the Lignieres Cyclocross World Cup race on Sunday.
The most surprising thing about the weekend? The amount of spectators at the race. Most riders and journalists were excpecting crowds similar to the the World Cup races in Rome a few years back (in 2013 and in World Cup #6 – Rome), where only a few thousand people stood by the course. It felt like a great race, lost of people, food and great racing.
The second most surprising thing about the weekend? When I drove onto the driveway of the cottage where I stayed, I saw the Wymans’ van. As I pulled up to the parking, I spotted Nikki Harris’ car, too. It turned out, that we all booked the same place, absolutely independently from each other.
The third most surprising thing about the weekend? That my Kickstarter campaign to publish the 2015/2016 Cyclocross Album has reached 50% in just 10 days! You can check out my video and the details of the project here:

Excellent photos! Tell me more about that notebook – did it belong to a commentator?
He was one of the autograph-fiends. He had this binder, with neatly organised pages and, as you can see on the photo, he was noting Iserbyt’s every race result, etc. There were many more pages and many more riders in the book. This is something I want to explore further in the coming edition of the book.
