The elite of the women road cycling sport is in the UK for the Women’s Tour of Britain and it feels like Milton Keynes did last November: my favourite sport, that I follow all over the world, finally ‘visits me’ at home. The whole caravan that follows the race met up in Bury St Edmunds today, mainly to do a little admin and to present the teams to the public. I haven’t covered last year’s race, so I can’t compare this year’s effort to those, but what I find most impressive is that the organisers are copying the infrastructure and everything else from the men’s race, which seems to make one of the best organised races in the calendar.
Today was the first and the easiest day, tomorrow is day one and stage one. More to come soon.
