It’s that time of the year again, when the Shaun Bayliss/Jason Cattermole duo pulls together a string of fun summer cyclocross races. Maybe it was just me but the fields seemed to be bigger than last year and the we were lucky again with the weather.
I wasn’t that lucky when it came to gearing. As cyclephotos is being one of the sponsors of the series, I promised Shaun to bring a couple of copies of the 2013/2014 Cyclocross album to the race so he could give them away as prizes. Plus I wanted to take a few photos, so the Canon 1D and one of my hefty lenses with me. It all worked well until I got to Gravel Hill. I knew that climb, it’s not something that raises an eyebrow on a normal bike, without a backpack. With the extra 20 pounds on my back and on 46-18 singlespeed bike, it was hard work, both on the way there and on the way back, though this time without the books.
It was another fun evening of balls out racing and it was great to see the community spirit after the race as many chipped in and helped to tear down the course. See you next week!
