Tabor is probably the race I’ve shot the second most times – the first is Koksijde. As the only Eastern European race in the calendar, it’s always been close to my heart and I’m always looking forward to this race in the calendar.
Yesterday didn’t disappoint. Especially the men’s, which brought the kind of uncertainty that we haven’t seen for a long while, though Mathieu van der Poel’s lack of celebration after the win was a sombre reminder of his grandfather’s passing earlier in the week.
Whatever next year’s calendar will look like, I really hope that weekends like this will become the thing of the past. To have almost 1,000 kilometres between two races on Saturday and Sunday just makes life unnecessarily difficult for everybody. I hope this was the last such weekend. This obviously means that I’m headed now to Hamme for today’s DVV Verzekeringen Trofee race, hopefully, I’ll have time to put up the gallery from there tonight.
