As I was driving home from Ruddervoorde, when I realised that this was the first October race in a long while, when I was cold. In the last 3-4 years, every autumn was really warm, I remember shooting almost all editions of Koppenberg in a t-shirt. Yet today, even when the sun was out, I needed at least a jumper and when the clouds came and the it started to rain, it felt like proper cyclocross weather has arrived. As I said, I don’t have historical weather data and I can only rely on anecdotal evidence, but it feels like we’re finally having a proper autumn for once. The forecast for Wednesday, for Koppenbergcross looks a bit milder and drier, so we’ll see how long this weather will last for.
