Phew. It’s over. The pinnacle of the season, the Cyclocross World Championships ended in Bieles and all is quiet on the eastern front again.
After three days of frozen mud, overnight it all thawed and turned it into a proper mud bath. For us, photographers, it was the best possible combination: the mud was there for the epic photos but we didn’t have to endure the rain that normally precedes it. The changed soil conditions also proved tricky and countless punctures made the day a lot less predictable. Onwards and upwards!
I hope you enjoyed my photos from the World Championships – if you did and haven’t done so yet, check out the Kickstarter campaign for the 2016/2017 Cyclocross Album!

Dear Balint,
why didn’t I stumble upon cyclephotos.co.uk earlier? How did this superb collection of photographs manage to stay previously undiscovered by me? Your website is such a good one, thanks for putting it online, the labour intensive maintenance of it and of course for all the efforts it takes to go to the places where the photos are made.
Me and my girlfriend spent several hours gazing on the computer screen and still have a lot to discover.
Please keep up the good work and continue to supply the public with great photography of a great sports discipline.
By the way, is there any chance to get my hands on back issues of the earlier books? your shop only lists one season being available for purchase.
Best regards
Sebastian
Epic photos as usual Balint !! the panning shots are super ! but my favourite this time is the portrait of wout with face covered in mud.
Yeah, that was a lucky one.
