Bike Profile – Zdenek Stybar’s Specialized Crux cyclocross bike

Avid cyclocross fans will remember New Year’s Day back in 2012: the day when Zdenek Stybar’s pink Specialized Crux was unveiled. Everybody went nuts about that bike and who could forget Styby in a pink fedora???

Last weekend saw Stybar returning to the cross scene for two races before he starts his well-earned winter break. Given that this was his first cross race in the rainbow jersey, his bikes were given the rainbow and gold treatment. Check out his custom painted Specialized Crux below.

The paint job is not as flashy as it was in 2014 but I really like the use of black, white and gold.

The bike was equipped with a full SRAM CX1 group set, the only exception was the Specialized carbon cranks.

Stybar opted for Avid cantilever brakes on both of his bikes.
