After a great race like the World Cup at Zolder was yesterday, it’s inevitable that there is a bit of anti-climax. However, Loenhout is a weird place for an anti-climatic race as it traditionally turns out to be the busiest race of the calender.
While I haven’t encountered with too many drunk spectators during my years at cross races, today, the this number definitely quadrupled. It wasn’t as bad as last year, when drinks were thrown at Sven Nys, but there were a few weird or dodgy situation, that was caused by drunk fans.
A day off now, kind of, I’ll be shooting a video with Stybar tomorrow and then Diegem is next. I love Diegem as it’s a night race and it always has a great atmosphere, the course is a good mix of urban environments and the fields. A bit less rain would be nice though. Have a nice weekend!

Thank you for the photo-report, a job well done! Glad to see Gabby Durrin and her epic Rapha-Focus kit are back on your lenses again. And Styby… everyone knows how we miss him on every CX race.
Thanks – I love Styby (not like that), so I’m glad that he was back for a few races.
