It’s funny when the weather plays deja-vu on you – and that’s exactly what happened today. The weather was identical to last year’s race, a bit of cold and heavy raining alternated warm sunshine and blue skies.
That wasn’t the only thing that caused deja-vu: after an exciting race, it all came down to Sven Nys and Niels Albert, they had to duke it out, just like last year and it was Nys again, who crossed the line first.
Next week will be a bit quieter, just one race on Sunday, Hamme-Zogge, but then comes one of the highlights of the season, at least for me: Asper-Gavere, my favourite race.
Oh, and I would like to congratulate to Helen Wyman and Nikki Harris for finishing first and second at the European Champs today – well done!
If you want to surprise yourself with a great cyclocross coffee table album, my book about the 2012/2013 cyclocross season is still available.

Not that I’m happy with Taramarcaz’s tumble, but the photo you’ve made of him falling is just great. Cool photos as always!
Don’t wish crashing on anyone, but it does make for cool pictures!
Yes, it’s always weird. On one hand you hope that he is ok, on the other, it’s a great photo. Mixed feelings.
great photos again this season as in the previous ones.
and i must strongly recommend your fantastic books (especially the last one): a must-have for every cyclocross addict!
i’m looking forward to the new one 😉
cheers

hey balint, yes it was trange wether but you’ll still manage the captures some great images, my favourite one in sven just before the podium ceremony
Thanks, Pieter. Glad we survived the weather!
I must agree, there are some spectacular pictures.
Thanks!
Cool photos! No Jaarmarktcross in Niel next week?
No Niel this year. Are you going to Niel?
No this year too.
Como disfruto viendo tus fabulosas fotos. Thanks for your work.
Thanks, I’m glad you like my photos.
Crashes never fail to make the most entertaining pics. You must be so excited on the way to Zonhoven each year 🙂
Yeah, it’s always a mixed bag: the crashes look great but often someone is badly hurt. That’s the great thing about Zonhoven: it looks great but then there is always never any harm done, due to the fact that they land on the sand.
Briliant race and your photos wonderful. That sand always throws up some action! Yelled myself hoarse for Albert but what a storming finish by Nys. Enjoy the next ones!
Thanks, Beth!
awesome
Thanks!
