I stayed in England this weekend, the weekend of the National Championships. I enjoyed my first day off in London for a loooooong time and then on Sunday I headed up to Ipswich to see the British Cyclo-cross Nationals.
I didn’t find the course particularly exciting (no offense) so I decided to focus on my favourite domestic team, Vicious Velo. – you’ve got to admit that they came up with a genuinely unique jersey design, that I could only liken to the Bernard Tapie’s classic La Vie Claire jersey from the 80’s. Oh, and they are just a really nice bunch.
Other highlights of the day included Helen Wyman’s impressive tour de force and the emotional and well deserved win of Ian Field, I really hope that he can hold onto his form for the rest of the season.
After this cheeky weekend, I’m back on the continent from Saturday, the penultimate World Cup race at Lievin will be the next race and after that, there are only seven races left!
