This week, we have seen the first really cold, windy and rainy day of the autumn and it signals nothing less than the fact that the cyclo-cross season is close! While I wasn’t able to cover races during the last season, this year I’m back! And unlike the 2009/2010 season, this time I’ll be covering the GVA and Superprestige series as well (check out the list of the races below).
On the one hand, it means that I won’t have a free weekend from the 9th October, on the other hand I can’t explain how excited I am about photographing all these amazing races! My first ever cross race I attended was in 2008, at Tabor, the Czech Republic and it was love at first sight: it was fast, it was intense and very, very exciting. And while primarily, I’d used to be a mountain biker, it was then and there when I realized that cross is my ‘thing’.
So from October, I’ll be dating this demanding girl of cyclo-cross again, crossing the Channel every week to show you all the great action throughout the season. Prior to the season, I have also decided to take a look at the ever growing US cross scene, so my first race will be Crossvegas in a little bit more than a week.
Also, I have felt that the old design wasn’t really fit for displaying the content efficiently, so I refreshed the design. Hopefully, it will not only look better but will be easier to navigate. There might be problems with older posts (broken links, broken image links) but that all should be rectified soon. I would love to hear from you what you think, so leave a comment or drop me an email at balint.hamvas@cyclephotos.co.uk.
And now let the cross season begin!
