Photo ebook of Katherina Nash - UCI Cyclocross World Cup 09/10 season
Next in the line is Katerina Nash, who only took part in three World Cup races (Nommay, Roubaix and Hoogerheide) but her win in Roubaix didn't left much doubt about her abilities. I really hope that next year she'll come back for more.

Children's cycling themed paintings from Tabor
The press center in Tabor during the World Championships were situated in a school. The walls were covered with paintings and drawings from the pupils and the theme was, obviously, cycling. I snapped a couple of photos of these paintings and put them together into one big image, if you click on the image below, you can see it in big (it's 1.2 megabytes, so be patient). My favourite is in the middle of the top row. Which one is you favourite?

End of the season
I have been pretty quite for the last couple of weeks as the cyclo-cross season is over now. After the very busy January, it was good to relax for a while. The last five months were quite amazing, with all the travels and the races, but it does feel good to chill out for a while. I'm already planning the mountain bike World Cup season, but it wouldn't start until late April, so there's quite almost three months before I would cover big races so I started to think, how what should I until then.
Therefore, I decided to roll out a series of photo ebooks. Using my cyclocross photo book as a template, I have been working on a series of books that is dedicated to each top 10 women and men. As I have covered every World Cup race this season, I have a decent amount of photos of the top 10 riders so I think it well worth checking out.
I will roll out these ebooks in the coming weeks and apart from the top 10 men and women riders, you'll find a ebook on the following riders: Gabby Day, Helen Wyman, Jonathan Page, Eddy IJzendoorn and Al Thijs.
Also, in the coming weeks, I'll share photos of interesting stuff from the past season: podium girls, funny fan art, crashes and a lot more. So stay tuned, I'll try to make this next couple months interesting, before I will have packed my bags again, for the first mountain bike World Cup race in April.
British CX Nationals in Sutton Park, Birmingham
The British Cyclo-cross Nationals were held in Sutton Park, Birmingham this weekend and I thought this would be a nice way to close the 2009/2010 cyclo-cross season.
When I arrived there, they had given away all the press photographer bibs, so unfortunately, I couldn't do finish line shots and I didn't have start list either, so I focused on playing with the strobes solely.

The 2010 UCI Cyclo-cross World Champion: Zdenek Stybar
It wasn't really that obvious, that Stybar could win the World Championships with such ease. Everybody was expecting a Stybar-Albert duell but as the race unfolded, that wasn't the case. Here is how it happened.
As he later said, he was exceptionally calm before the race, even his heartrate was below average, a mere 85 bpm. He kept smiling and enjoyed the cheers from the home crowd.
Niels Albert looked much more concerned. As it later turned out, he had every reason to be concerned - he gave up the race after 6 laps.

I don't have much time before I leave, so I'm posting only one photo now, but I think it tells the whole story.
The women's World Championship race in Tabor
Sanne Van Paassen smiles before the women's start.
Nikoline Hansen also smiles. There wasn't much cycling going on later, however.
