I admire Shaun Bayliss. He is the guy who puts on the Summer Cyclocross League, a string of low-key but well organised races. I admire his energy, he turns up week after week, puts up a course with his helpers, a different one every time so people don’t get bored, makes sure that everybody is safe and is having a good time and he works hard to keep the sponsors happy.
I got in touch with Shaun earlier this year and offered a few copies of my new book. He worked hard to keep me happy, even though I was just one of the smaller (if not the smallest) sponsors.
So he works really hard, he created something that many people enjoy week after week and all he seems to be getting in return is great racing and a lot of smiley faces. That’s why I admire Shaun Bayliss.
Update: Shaun asked me to mention that Jason Cattermole does just as much work as him, so kudos to him, too.
