Vulpine Cycling Fete
This week will be very exciting because it is the week of the Vulpine Cycling Fete. It is, essentially, a cycling-specific Christmas and art fair.
Its energetic founder, Nick Hussey of Vulpine.cc was kind kind enough to invite me, so I will be spending Saturday afternoon at the Balham Bowls Club from 3pm till 9pm.
I will be selling my book, the Cyclocross 2011/2012 book but me and a few artist friends have been preparing some further goodness just for the day! The talented Eliza Southwood created a lovely, cyclocross-themed Christmas card that is based on one of photos of Zdenek Stybar.
I first met with Eliza’s work a couple of months ago and I instantly knew that I would love her to do something cyclocross-related. We sat down, had a chat and our first collaboration is this Christmas card.
Another friend, Beata Nora created a few unique and exciting dioramas. During the week, she is a set designer so she knows a thing or two about creating exciting and visually exciting things out of all kinds of materials.
I gave her a bunch of photos and she picked the ones she liked and created a few wonderful dioramas. The two below is just a taster, there will me more of these on Saturday.
Long story short, come and visit me and the other great artists and brands who will participate, come if you want to buy something for Christmas for someone or come along if you just want to have a chat about cycling, cyclocross or photography. It will be a great day, good food and great atmosphere. See you on Saturday!
