It’s been a very long day, great race, struggling with the cameras in the dark, I’m off to sleep now, my train leaves back to London early in the morning. I’ll be back to Belgium for all four races during the festive week, more to come soon – and Happy Christmas to every reader. Thanks for keep coming back and reading my blog!
I had difficulties to locate the press centre, so much so, that I missed the most of the women's race - and Gabby Day's great ride to a fourth place.
I don't know who she was but she had this funny look on her face, so the photo made it into the final selection.
NIkoline Hansen and Tessa Van Nieuwpoort rolling back to their cars after the race.
Chaos after the juniors' start.
Sometimes I forget how young junior riders can be.
Telenet ad on the tarmac.
The U23 race was dominated by Wietse Bosmans and Lars Van Der Haar. Impressive quads, by the way.
I love how confidently Van Der Haar jumps the barrier, not even looking down, keeping his eyes on Bosmans as if he was his prey.
Michiel Van Der Heyden
One of the VIP venues, where the privileged could watch the race up, close and personal.
Team AA bikes on display - I don't know whether the lighting was conscious but it looked great.
The future generation.
One of the jibs on the course. These are responsible for creating those spectacular sweeping shots.
These lovely ladies were keen on their photograph being taken.
Zdenek Stybar still can't find his form - a relatively disappointing 8th place for him today.
Tom Meeusen didn't finish the race.
Niels Albert had showed a good form since he returned and after two podium places last week, he conquered the top spot with an emphatic win.
Sven Nys wasn't the dominating force today - his third place however put him on the top of the overall Superprestige ranking.
It started to rain in the last lap - Aurelien Duval was able to hold onto his lead over Bart Wellens and even extended it to 10 seconds.
This photo should have been much better but two police officers marched into the frame and ruined the composition. Sometimes you get lucky, this wasn't the case here.
A happy Niels Albert supporter. Extra points for the wig.
The Niels Albert supporters gave their hero a big cheer when he stepped on the top of the podium.
